In crime news out of Springfield Vermont, a Bennington man was arrested on outstanding warrants after police were tipped off as to his presence.
52-year old Edward Roy of Bennington was arrested around 10:00 PM Wednesday night when Springfield Police responded to a tip saying that a subject wanted on outstanding warrants was believed to be on Carley Road.
Officers Logan Defelice and Steven Neily responded to the call to find Roy at a residence and was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants stemming from Bennington County.
The warrants included Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, Simple Assault, and Violations of Conditions of Release. Roy had been held without bail back in September for allegedly grabbing a woman, scratching and tearing her shirt, and threatening her and her boyfriend with a knife.
After Wednesday’s arrest, Roy was taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility without incident for the outstanding warrants, which amounted to a bail of $35,000.
