SPRINGFIELD, VT - Sammy Pierce was a real estate professional of the highest caliber. Well known in the area, not only for his real estate expertise, but equally known for his willingness to help others when he saw a need. It is that quality that we hope to find in students today of any age who are going on to higher learning.
Sammy died in a tragic motorcycle accident. As in all accidents, there is never an expectation; no warning; no good-byes. The Crown Point Board of Realtors together with Sammy’s family chooses scholarship recipients who best exemplify that same giving spirit that Sammy displayed ... Helping when there was a need, without thought to recognition or reward.
Students from the towns of Andover, Baltimore, Cavendish, Chester, Grafton, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Rockingham, Springfield, and Weathersfield who are continuing education in a 2 or 4 year college program are invited to apply. Public and private school students, home schooled, college, adult learners, and previous recipients may apply. While the course of study is not restricted in any way, the applicants must have a strong history of volunteer community service.
Applications and information for the Sammy Pierce Memorial Scholarships are available at your local High School, or by contacting Helen Wachtel at 802-275-3902.
