Springfield man dies in Charlestown crash
CHARLESTOWN — Glen L. Duchane, 61, of Springfield died Wednesday after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a dump truck on Route 12 in Charlestown.
New Hampshire State Police say at 2:31 p.m., Duchane was operating a white 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound and attempted to pass a NH DOT International dump truck making a left-hand turn. The truck was operated by Christopher J. Garland of Alstead.
Duchane suffered life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries hours later at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
Assisting on scene were members of the New Hampshire State Police Troop C Barracks, the Charlestown Police Department, Charlestown Fire & Rescue/EMS crews, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Springfield Vermont Fire & Rescue and EMS crews.
At this time, the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit).
