SPRINGFIELD — Kate Moriglioni’s Cosmos had just dropped the game to Brattleboro, but she was hardly down.
“I am so encouraged,” she said. “It’s a work in progress. They just don’t know how good they are. Once that clicks...”
The Cosmos seized the lead, scoring the first two goals of the game. Matt Veysey scored the first and then Derek Benson padded the lead.
Springfield is 0-2 and will try to break through on Thursday at Hartford.
“That should be another good challenge,” Moriglioni said.
