Things were seized,” Lt. Mark Fountain said on Monday afternoon at the police station. Fountain could not release any further details as of 3 p.m. Monday due to an ongoing investigation. Police Chief Douglas Johnston was not in the office on Monday. The yellow house on Pine Street where the search took place has multiple entrances, but no visible address. It is located next door to the Pine Street Preschool. Warren Masure, an employee out reading electric meters on Pine Street on Monday, said that he was at the residence at approximately 2 p.m. when he saw police leave the residence with “a brown paper bag.” Fountain confirmed that about five or six police units responded, which he said is typical for a search warrant, and that they seized items from the home. Police could not yet confirm the address, but the building is between 23 and 15 Pine St., according to neighboring addresses. Fountain said that no charges had been filed against any individual yet as of Monday afternoon. — This story will be updated when more information is available.
