Please see the following list for days and times that classes will be starting: Pool & Ping Pong (Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 a.m.), Ceramics Class (Monday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.), Mat Yoga (Monday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m.), Gym Walking (Monday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m.), Chair Yoga (Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.), Line Dancing (Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 11:15 a.m.), Pinochle (Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 12:30 p.m.), Cribbage Doubles (Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.), Shuffleboard (Thursday, Sept. 15 at 12 p.m.). For the complete list of when all classes take place, besides the start dates listed above, please see our Facebook Page or stop into the senior center for a monthly newsletter. Please note that the Strength Training Class will not be starting until the following week — Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Sept. 14! The Springfield Senior Center will be hosting the Silver Country music group from the Charlestown Senior Center at 1 p.m. Silver Country will be here to put on an entertaining and fun show — we hope to fill the building during this dynamic event. After Silver Country is done performing, we will be providing snacks and refreshments. We are currently looking for people to sign up to help supply these snacks and refreshments. There is a sign-up sheet located at the seniorcenter if you would like to help us out by bringing some food in. The Annual Meeting is scheduled to take place Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. Come join us for this meeting to vote on the election of different committee members and to find out exactly how the money that YOU raised is spent throughout the year. After the Annual Meeting, there will be an Ice Cream Social/ Meet-and-Greet Event with Heather, the new director of the Springfield Senior Center. The next meeting for the Springfield Knit Wits will be taking place Thursday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. If you would like to join, we are always accepting new members. We have spots in our upcoming overnight trip to Newport, Rhode Island taking place Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. If you’re interested in learning more about the overnight trip, please contact us at the senior center for a full itinerary and pricing. We are also still looking for more people who are interested in being subs for cribbage and/or shuffleboard (both of which start next week). If you are interested in being a sub, please let Heather know at the center. The Springfield Senior Center would also like to give a big shout out to everyone who has donated a variety of goods or volunteered to help out at the center. Without the help of our many wonderful members, this senior center would not be what it is today! If you have any questions on the information presented above, please reach out to Heather Hall, executive director, at (802) 885-3933 or email her at heatherhallssc@gmail.com.
