Springfield Community Chorus concerts are this weekend
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Community Chorus is presenting their holiday concert, "A Golden Christmas," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Chester and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in Springfield. Admission is by donation.
As part of the 50th year celebration the former director of the chorus, Deirdre Hiltsley, will share the podium with the current director, Ken Olsson. Selections for this concert include a collection of different Christmas favorites arranged by Kirby Shaw, John Rutter, Alice Parker, Norman Luboff, Benjamin Britten, Robert Decormier and others. Ashley Paine will be the accompanist.
