Springfield Senior Center news
By Heather Hall, Executive Director
On Tuesday, Nov. 15, we will be hosting our VNA Foot Clinic. Appointments are necessary and are $20 each. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call the center today.
On Wednesday, Nov. 16, we will be having our Annual Roadrunner’s meeting take place at 1 p.m. Come join us to hear about all the trips that are possible to take next year. After hearing about all the trips, you will have the ability to VOTE on what trips you would like to take. New this year, voting will last for a week; if you are not able to make it to the meeting on Nov. 16, you can come into the senior center through Nov. 23 and cast your vote for trips. After the Roadrunner’s meeting, we will have an ice cream social!
Thursday, Nov. 17, will be the last day of all yoga classes for the holiday season. Yoga classes will start back up in the New Year — keep an eye out in the monthly newsletter for the exact start-up date.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, we will be having our Annual Christmas Bazaar at the Springfield Senior Center, 139 Main St., in Springfield. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come join us as this is our largest fundraising event of the year. We will have our Cookie Walk with hundreds of cookies to choose from, our Luncheon Table so that you can enjoy a hot dish while you shop and a Food Table so that you can bring home some delish food to enjoy later. If you would like to make cookies for the cookie walk, or donate food toward the luncheon and food table, please see the sign-up sheet in the senior center or give us a call to let us know what you would be willing to donate.
Also, please remember that our Senior Center does not have any membership fees, and that anyone, from any town, can come and join us for our events and activities all year round — you do not have to live in the town of Springfield. The money raised at the bazaar helps make it so that we do not have to charge for any of the activities or events, as well as keep it so that there are no membership fees.
We still have spaces available for vendors at the bazaar. If you’re interested in having a space for your crafts, please call the center today and speak with Heather. Also, set-up for the Bazaar event will start on Friday, Nov. 18. If you have a booth space reserved, you can arrive to the center at 12 p.m. on Friday to begin set-up. We would like to thank everyone in advance for supporting our senior center. Without the wonderful support of our members and the community, we would not have a center that is so filled with laughs and love.
If you have any questions about anything above, please reach out to the Executive Director Heather Hall at either (802) 885-3933 or heatherhallssc@gmail.com.
