Springfield Senior Center news
Today, Saturday, Nov. 19, we are hosting our Annual Christmas Bazaar. Come down to the Springfield Senior Center to celebrate and support our largest fundraising event of the year. From the cookie walk to many vendors, there’s something here for everyone. You can also join us for lunch as we will have our food and luncheon table with homemade soups, delicious breads and yummy pies.
On Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m., we will be honoring the November birthdays and playing Nickel Bingo. Come bring your spare change and try your luck with caller Roger Newhall. Again this year, the Springfield Senior Center is helping to collect 2017 calendars to be donated to the Santa Claus Club to be handed out to the senior members in our community this holiday season. If people could bring in 2017 calendars to the senior center between now and the end of the year, that would be wonderful as they will be donated to good homes and to people who need them.
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m., we will be holding one of our $5 auctions at the Center. Please join us as we focus on raising money for future entertainment at the center. In order to join in the auction, please bring a wrapped “gift” valued at $5 to be auctioned off. The item can be anything you would like it to be.
On Thursday, Dec. 1st, the Springfield Senior Center will be headed down to Stockbridge, Massachusetts for the Home for the Holidays Trip. The bus will be departing from the Springfield Senior Center at 8 a.m. sharp — please arrive at the Springfield Senior Center around 7:30 a.m. to get checked-in if you have signed up for the trip. At this current point in time, the trip is full and there has been a waiting list started. If you’re interested in being placed on the waiting list, please call the senior center today.
The Springfield Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.
If you have any questions about anything above, please reach out to the Executive Director Heather Hall at either (802) 885-3933 or heatherhallssc@gmail.com.
