New members sought for Springfield Community Chorus
The Springfield Community Chorus invites new members to join. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield.
The Springfield Community Chorus invites new members to join. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield.
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Community Chorus is starting the spring season of its 50th year by inviting new members to join. No tryouts are required. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. Mondays at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 21 Fairground Road in Springfield. Ken Olsson is the director. The first rehearsal is Jan. 9 with registration beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The concert weekend is May 6 and May 7. The spring concerts will be in collaboration with the Bennington Choral Society. Combined choruses will sing the fourth movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony accompanied by a full orchestra. The May 6 concert wil be performed in Bennington and the May 7 concert will be in Springfield. The choruses will also be singing a world premiere choral work by Vermont composer, Zeke Hecker.
