2016-12-10 / Community Springfield Senior Center news By Heather Hall, Executive Director On Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m, the Springfield Senior Songsters will be performing their Christmas Performance. Come and join us for the wonderful celebration. This will also be the same day as our Christmas Party — come join us for goodies — who knows, you may even get to see Santa Claus. We will also be doing a gift swap at the Christmas Party — bring a wrapped gift if you would like to receive a gift. We are currently looking for people to sign up and bring in goodies to share for our Christmas Party, if you could please bring a snack to share, that would be wonderful. The Springfield Senior Center is currently working on all trips that will be taking place for the 2017 travel season. As of now, I am creating the list for our large trip in 2017. Next year, we will be going on a trip to Bermuda, we will be sailing with Norwegian Cruise Lines. The date of the trip is Sept. 8 to Sept. 15. We will be leaving from Boston — the price, per person, for an inside cabin is roughly $1,400. If you’re interested in a room with a window or balcony, please speak with the Heather at the Springfield Senior Center for more information and prices. The prices are all inclusive, including taxes, trip insurance, transportation to and from the Springfield Senior Center and port fees. You will also be eligible for a special package for booking on our group trip. The choices for these packages are as follows: Ultimate Beverage Package, Prepaid Service Charges, Internet Package, $50 per port shore credit (per cabin), Dining Package or 20-Photo Package. The trip sign-up will take place on Monday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. at the Springfield Senior Center — a $25 dollar deposit is required to hold your spot on the trip. Active Members will be given first choice to the rooms — as of 10:30 a.m., all other rooms available will be available for sale to anyone age 21 and older. Mark your calendars as we are planning on having a huge celebration, albeit a couple of days late, to bring in the New Years. The Springfield Senior Center has booked Mark Shelton, Famous Elvis Impersonator and performer, to come into the Springfield Senior Center on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1 p.m., the incorrect date was printed in last week’s article — Mark WILL NOT be here on January 1, 2017. The performance is absolutely free to everyone who joins us although, if you would like to make a donation toward future entertainment at the Senior Center, we will gladly accept those. Make sure not to miss this performance as it’s sure to be one of the best ones we’ve had in a while. If you have any questions about anything above, please reach out to Executive Director Heather Hall, at either (802) 885-3933 or heatherhallssc@gmail.com.
