Promoting peace locally

I am hoping to find a small number of people close to Springfield who would like to join me in reading, writing, and sharing, to consolidate our ideas of how best to proceed and to support each other in the unbelievably chaotic times on our doorstep.

Peace Studies group announced

I would like to announce the beginning of a local Peace Studies Study Group. We all have to do what we can in this time of economic, environmental, and cultural disaster. My experience is in guiding and facilitating adult study groups, so I would like to establish a Springfield area Peace Studies study group. The curriculum is not new, so there is available a wide choice of resource materials.

Each participant can find a favorite thread and help educate the rest of us about that through discussion. Developing world peace seems like a formidable undertaking, but it is done one step at a time; there are several indications that the time is right and there are already many organizations working on precisely this problem.

Your expression of interest can be sent to Larry at harrylarryfarry@gmail.com or 802 885 5489. If you leave your name and address I will mail (or e-mail) you some curriculum ideas I have and we can begin to find out where and when we can meet. All are entirely welcome, including interested high school students. A belief in the future is required, but no experience is necessary.

Thank you,

Larry Sherk

  2. Some folks are born, made to wave the flag, ooh that Red, White, and Blue. And when the band plays "Hail to the Chief," ooh, they point the cannon at you, y'all.
