2017-01-14 / Community Springfield Senior Center news By Heather Hall, Executive Director Thank you to the Dancing Fool (Linda Wilson) & Her Sidekick (Gordon Emerson) for entertaining and performing for the Springfield Senior Center at our New Year Party. A great group of people showed up and danced during the party. Also, thank you to the Springfield Line Dancers for performing during the event. We all enjoyed some delicious goodies thanks to the following people: Terri Emerson (Co-Chair), Sandi Tarbell (Co-Chair), Linda Roys, Linda Wilson, Wanda Blanchard, Freda Barton, Dorothy Sargent, Audrey Tarbell, Cathy Honeywell, Gloria Ballantine and Jo Coleman. The VNA Foot Clinic will be taking place Tuesday, Jan. 17. Appointments are necessary and cost $20 each. If you would like to schedule an appointment today, please call the senior center. On Wednesday, Jan.18, we will be hosting game day. Come join us as we exercise on brains and play Hand & Foot and any other game you might be interested in. On Thursday, Jan. 19, the Knit Wits will be meeting in the living room at 1pm. Come join us if you’re interested! On Friday, Jan. 20, come to the Springfield Senior Center at 1 p.m. to use space to paint or do any other art activity. Supplies will not be provided so please bring your own. This time and space is being provided because people don’t feel they have enough space at home. We provide a quiet space for you to practice your art. This space will be available every Friday at the senior center. Join the Springfield Senior Center this year on a Cruise to Bermuda — we will be sailing with Norwegian Cruise Lines. The date of the trip is Sept. 8th – Sept. 15th. We will be shipping out from Boston — the price, per person/ double occupancy is as follows: Interior Cabin — $1,212.51, Ocean View Cabin- $1,557.51, or Balcony Cabin — $1,902.51. We only have a select few rooms so, if you’re interested in joining in on the cruise, please call ASAP! The prices are all-inclusive, including taxes, trip insurance, transportation to and from the Springfield Senior Center and port fees. You will also be eligible for two special packages for booking on our group trip. The choices for these packages are as follows: Ultimate Beverage Package (UNLIMITED DRINKS- including all alcoholic beverages, for the ENTIRE length of the cruise), Prepaid Service Charges and Gratuities, Internet Package, $50 per port shore credit (per cabin), Dining Package, $75 on-board cabin credit or 20-Photo Package. Starting in the month of February, you will be able to receive our monthly newsletter via email.
