2017-04-01 / Community Springfield Senior Center By Heather Hall, Executive Director On Monday, April 3, the trip sign-up for the Bobby Darling Show will take place at 9 a.m. for Active Members and 10 a.m. for Non-Active Members. Get ready to laugh yourself silly with the Springfield Road Runners as we travel down to the HukeLau in Chicopee, Massachusetts on Tuesday, Aug. 15 to enjoy The Bobby Darling Show and a TWIN LOBSTER MEAL (prime rib for us land lubbers). This show is a wonderful mix of music and comedy — everyone is sure to enjoy their time! Price of Trip: ACTIVE MEMBERS: $89.95 per person. Price of Trip: NON-ACTIVE MEMBERS: $101.95 per person. The Road Runners will be taking a day trip on Thursday, May 18. We will be going to Ogunquit, Maine, to see the Broadway hit “Mamma Mia!” Lunch at Mike’s Clam Shack and some shopping stops will also be included in the price. Anyone is welcome to join us, as long as you are 21 years of age or older. The Road Runner trips are always a great time with many laughs and several great memories made! Prices: Active Members — $143 per person and Non-Active Members — $155 per person. The VNA Foot Clinic will be taking place on Tuesday, April 4. Appointments are necessary and are $20 per person. If you would like to make an appointment, please call the center today. Join us on Wednesday, April 5, for a Game Day. Hand and Foot is the popular game being played right now but, any game is welcome. Game Day will start at 1 p.m. and is sure to be a great time. The Knit Wits will be meeting on Thursday, April 6, at 1 p.m. in the Living Room. If you would like to join them, stop on in! Looking Ahead: “Easter Parade” at Springfield Senior Center. Join the Springfield Senior Center and Green Mountain RSVP as they co-host an exclusive showing of Irving Berlin’s “Easter Parade” starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. Movie time is 12:30 at the senior center. “Strolling along 5th Avenue or going on the bum as a couple of wwells, Judy Garland and Fred Astaire lead a parade of music and gotta dance fun in this never ending delight co-starring Ann Miller and Peter Lawford.” Free popcorn, drinks and door prizes.
