SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – An incredible season for the Springfield Youth Wrestlers continues to roll on! While Mother Nature played a foul weather trick on April Fools Day, a crew of dedicated grapplers forged ahead to hit the mats in Fair Haven VT for some serious action. Competition was even fiercer than the weather, yet our boys in green rose to the challenge!
Showing improved skill and strength this season, 6th grader Kyle Bauer worked hard on a respectable bronze medal. Coming in second place in their weight brackets were Garrett Brickey, Jace Beamon, and Hunter Ferland, who duked it out in a six-man bracket. Walking home with a first-place title were Tristan Perry, Dillan Lacasse, and Dmitri Jasinski.
The 3rd – 6th graders will head to Vergennes this weekend for State Chamionships, and the K-2 wrestlers get their shot at a state title on April 15 in St Johnsbury. Go, green!
