Springfield mother allegedly sold heroin with her daughter in the backseat Drug Task Force conducted controlled buy in November Subscribe WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - A Springfield woman who drove to the Springfield Shopping Plaza back in November and allegedly conducted a drug deal while her young daughter was in the back seat of her car is facing a felony charge as a result. Amanda Poller, 24, pleaded innocent earlier this month to a single count of sale of heroin before she was released from the courthouse in downtown White River Junction on pre-trial conditions. Detective Trooper Daniel Bennett of the Southern Vermont Drug Task Force said that a cooperating informant who claimed to have bought heroin in one or two “bundle” amounts (a bundle being 10 bags) from Poller on a half-dozen occasions last year carried out the sting operation. Bennett said detectives listened in as the individual set up the $90 purchase and then watched a short time later as Poller drove into the Plaza in a black Chevy Impala with her daughter in tow and allegedly handed over nine bags of heroin after the informant hopped into her parked car for a couple of minutes. In February, Poller was convicted of simple assault in an unrelated Ludlow case and given a two-year deferred sentence, meaning that if she does not get into any further trouble during the next two years while she is on probation then no formal sentencing will take place. Poller currently faces a maximum potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison if she were to be convicted of the new charge now pending against her. I'm going out on a limb here speculating Amanda didn't walk free on her looks alone. In seriousness, it's the child who's the pitiful victim. Yet Springfield's progressive value system recognizes this as the new norm.
ReplyDeleteShe works at HCRS around people "recovering from drugs" that's not fishy.
ReplyDeleteNice parenting skills there Amanda! Let's see, she works at HCRS, they are legal drug dealers.
ReplyDeleteHer boyfriends family have all been arrested for drugs.
She's from New Jersey. Where most of these druggies come from.
She will sing like a canary and sell her friends out and be walking free.
Hopefully, her kids will be taken away from the drug element and she will spend some time in jail.
Someone on another site said she was a "hard working mother" haha yeah sure! She works for HCRS and worked at the medical center so she HAD a good job, why would she jeopardize that? Last year she was in trouble and convicted and was let go and told to behave for a year or so and obviously she didnt learn her lesson! AND to sell drugs with your child in the car? Are you friggin nuts?? I can only imagine what her children have seen and been exposed to! What a role model mother she is!! Well, we all know how the Vermont courts work, she will be out running the streets after a slap on the hand...right back to doing her dealings. I hope she gets some public shaming, maybe she will go back to "Jersey" where she belongs!
ReplyDeleteShame can be a very powerful influence where our court systems have failed us.
DeleteDoes she still work at HCRS? You'd think that they would not want anymore bad press about them.
