The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced the two-day closure of the Route 11 bridge on Monday, stating that on Aug. 1 and 2 the bridge will be closed to traffic between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving. Message boards will be used to inform motorists of the scheduled work on the week of July 31. Alternate routes across the river can be found in North Walpole at the Arch Bridge, or north in Claremont across the Route 12 bridge. Miller Construction of Windsor, Vermont is the prime contractor for the $695,000 project. Work on the project will be weather dependent. According to the NHDOT bridge condition database, the bridge, which was originally built in 1900, is currently listed as being in “fair” condition following reconstruction last year.
