Williams, and her sister, Cadet Commander, C/2 Lt. Abigail Williams. - Courtesy PhotoSPRINGFIELD — Cailyn Williams was recently promoted to Chief Master Sergeant by her Father, Commander. Capt. Williams, and her sister, Cadet Commander, C/2 Lt. Abigail Williams, while the Deputy Commander for Cadets, 2nd Lt. John Noll, looked on. It has not always been easy for Chief Master Sgt. Cailyn Williams get to meetings, but despite this, she has excelled in the program and is congratulated, according to a press release. The Civil Air Patrol is the volunteer auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, tasked with three missions: aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services. Membership in the cadet program is open to girls and boys at age 12. Adult members are always welcome and urgently needed. Meetings are most Sundays at 3:30 p.m. at the Catamount Composite Squadron Headquarters located at 13 Airport Road, North Springfield, adjacent to the Hartness State Airport.
