Connecticut man leads VSP on high-speed chase | March 20, 2018 CHRISTOPHER ELLIS ROCKINGHAM — At 6:17 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 91 north, in the town of Rockingham. While speaking with the driver, Christopher Ellis, 24, of Enfield, Connecticut, the troopers observed indications that Ellis was impaired. During the investigation, Ellis fled the scene in his car and a short pursuit followed, reaching speeds of 110 miles per hour. Ellis was stopped again near mile marker 41, on Interstate 91 north, in the town of Springfield. Ellis was arrested for DUI, aggravated attempting to elude, gross negligent operation and excessive speed and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. Ellis was issued a criminal citation and order held until sober. Ellis was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility. He is due in Windham County Superior Court at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 3.
