Springfield woman charged with sale of fentanyl Created by Eric Francis Alleged drug involvements stretch back 25 years SPRINGFIELD, VT - A Springfield woman was arrested last week by members of the Southern Vermont Drug Task Force and charged with sale of fentanyl, an especially potent opioid that police say has been responsible for a number of heroin overdose deaths across the region. Suzanne Thompson, 52, was arrested last Thursday morning and has since been cited to answer the felony charge on June 26th at the Windsor Superior Court Criminal Division in White River Junction. Detective Trooper Sean Reilly said the arrest came after an investigation into the sale of heroin in the Springfield, Vermont area and added that the Southern Vermont Drug Task Force was assisted by the Springfield Police Department. Thompson, who listed her source of income as Social Security Disability during previous court proceedings, has been charged with drug possession on several previous occasions in Vermont and New Hampshire with arrests dating back to the 1990s but court records did not indicate how those cases were resolved.
