ReplyDeleteYeah, it makes a lot of difference when you don't have to cope with a smoking engine in your lap. "Airplanes crash; gliders land out." The most scenic landing out Springfield had was about 40 years ago, when a glider got hung up on a power line out by the country club. The pilot and his passenger made it out safely, but the pilot's wife was not happy when the Eagle Times showed the photo of the pilot and his girl friend at the site.
