Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility inmate Gregory A. Smith, 33, a former resident of Springfield, Vermont, is charged with allegedly attempting to “cause serious bodily injury” to a correctional officer at 5:38 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at the facility in Rutland, Vermont. The correctional officer sustained minor injuries during the altercation, and the incident was reported to the Vermont State Police in Rutland, all according to a VSP press release.
