Gallery at the VAULT is pleased to feature Springfield native, Deb Craigue at this year’s Open Studio Weekend May 26 and 27. Craigue is a self-taught artist who has been inspired by the nature around her since childhood, enjoyed then and now on horseback rides in the area. She paints using a magnifying glass and invites the viewer to examine the detail of her work.
Especially known for her birds, she also loves to paint horses and lighthouses.
Gallery at the VAULT will be open May 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craigue will demonstrate her painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Craigue paints her lovely images on barrel staves, horseshoes, and other reclaimed surfaces, and she’ll have some materials ready for visitors to try their hand at painting on wood.
Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to meet a wide variety of artists and craftspeople. For full details, see www.vermontcrafts.com.
Gallery at the VAULT is proud to present a new open wall art show, “Cycles of Life” on view until July 26. Open Wall is an exhibit space for anyone living in a 30-mile radius of Springfield. It is a non-juried show. The diversity of art from new as well as seasoned artists is just wonderful. You can enjoy paintings, photographs, pottery, mixed media, embroidery, geometric sculpture, and an uncommon tricycle.
