The third 3CVT creative networking mash up

The Cornerstone Creative Community of Vermont (3CVT), a committee of professionals working within the local creative economy, is hosting its third regional mash up at the Great Hall at 100 River St., in Springfield, Thursday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a free event and breakfast social.

3CVT is connecting the creative economy of East Central Vermont, which contributes approximately 8.9 percent to the total region’s employment. This 40-town region stretches from the Connecticut River in the east, to Rochester, Stockbridge, and Bridgewater in the west, from Newbury and Topsham in the north to Springfield and Chester in the south.

All individuals, and organizations, working in the midst of the region, and its boundaries, are invited to this second free grassroots networking event, for all those engaged in the promotion of the arts, working artists, musicians, performers, culinary arts, publishing, film, IT, and the design world.

There will be a breakfast social and networking opportunity from 9 – 10 a.m. followed by the welcome by Caitlin Christiana, executive director of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, introduction by Bob Flint, executive director of the Springfield Regional Development Corporation). Community discussion and presentations by guest panel members is from 10 a.m. to noon. Panel members include local business owner and guitar maker, Scott MacDonald of S.B. Custom Instruments, Sabrina Smith & Robyn Priebe of the Steampunk Society of Vermont, and Nina Jamison, the director of Exhibitions at the Great Hall at 100 River St. and founder of Gallery at the VAULT.

This unique networking event is designed to explore the benefits of the creative economy, and the opportunities it presents for our local Vermont region, aligning communities to work smarter, not harder. Anni Mackay, owner and director of BigTown Gallery, said, “We’re focused on neighbor to neighbor, community to community, and region-wide connect-the-dots to showcase the extraordinary hive of local creative activity for the benefit of visitors and residents alike.”

Parking for this event is located off of Pearl Street on the backside of the building where the main entrance is located.
