Vermont gubernatorial candidates have been a national laughing stock. Even those elected garner little or no respect when routinely cornered lying.

You have a rare opportunity for change and prosperity. Watch the debates, meet the candidates and use your vote wisely.
Gov. Phil Scott is the only candidate on the ballot from ANY party that has name recognition. He'll probably be re-elected, on that alone!
Delete^ That would normally be the case. But there are far more gun owners in Vermont than either Democrats or Republicans. Scott was a fool to throw us under the bus to appease a few Chittenden county liberals. Just read what happened to Peter Smith who underestimated our resolve.
DeletePhil Scott will easily defeat Keith Stern in the Republican primary and there isn't a Democrat on the ballot who stands a chance against him in the general election, gun owners notwithstanding. This election is more than just a referendum on gun rights.
DeleteI'm a gun owner, and I'll vote for Scott. Every gun and magazine I own is still legal. He hasn't taken anything away from me.
Delete"Management does not get a pay raise until the workers have gotten a pay raise." That was Christine Hellquist's order while she was CEO of the Washington County Electric Co-operative. She took over management of that nearly-bankrupt organization and in 8 years raised it to the level of an A+ S&P rating. From her experience of having to build a plant for a manufacturer in Indiana, she learned the value of unions. And she was moderator for her town's annual Town Meeting. And on the personal side, she was miffed when some stranger told her, "Smile, sweetie."
