JEFF EPSTEIN SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The Town of Springfield's Energy Committee is getting ready to show homeowners how to save money and energy, in cooperation with Efficiency Vermont's "Button Up" campaign. The first event is a presentation of two Efficiency Vermont workshops Oct. 4 at the First Congregational Church. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The first workshop, scheduled for 6 p.m., will be "Do Cold Climate Heat Pumps Make Sense For You?" The workshop is promised to "cover the latest in heat pump technology," explain heat pump options for hot water and space heating, and compare and constrast heat pumps with other fuel sources. The second workshop, "Beyond Heating With Cord Wood" will discuss how modern wood heating works, and its relative cost and savings compared to other fuel sources and systems. Both workshops will be led by Steve Spatz, a residential energy consultant with Efficiency Vermont. In following weeks, other events will take place at the transfer station to give out information about energy options. The Button Up campaign comes as Springfield is working through updates to its town energy plan, and considering participation in other statewide energy savings programs.
No mention of development of hydro electric to feed power to indoor farming by people who have no intention of solving problems, just making a career out of feeding themselves off the problem.
