Springfield man reaches plea deal in statutory rape case

A 54-year-old Springfield man who had been facing the prospect of up to 82 years in prison on multiple statutory rape charges struck a plea deal this week.

  1. I know John personally, he is not a predator in any sense of the term. He would be the first guy to lend a hand even if a stranger needed help. I only hope the judge grants mercy with time served and no jail time. John is a hard worker, full of talent, with a huge heart that would not hurt a flee. Let's not waste our limited jail space on a good man with no record, he deserves mercy.

  5. Yeah he deserves Mercy for repeatedly screwing a kid right 7:01? You can't be that stupid. He is having sex with someone younger than his children. And a kid that young has no idea what they are getting into. HE IS A PEDOPHILE

    1. Read the details of the case. The girl approached him and lied about her age. Perhaps John should have know better, but he did call off the sexual relationship after he found out her real age. This is not a cut and dry case.
