A 33-year-old Springfield, Vt., man pleaded guilty this week to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a case that alleged he kidnapped a man and held him at gunpoint in August. Rey Early was sentenced to six months to three years in jail on Monday. The state dismissed three other charges he faced, including the kidnapping charge. Early and Tyler Marston, 32, whose case still is pending, allegedly picked up Alexander Jillson-Corbosiero in August in Windsor to smoke marijuana. Early pointed a shotgun at Corbosiero while Marston drove to Ludlow, Vt., where Early allegedly threatened Corbosiero at gunpoint to commit a burglary near Okemo Mountain Resort. Marston allegedly hit Corbosiero with the front passenger-side of the SUV that night, causing injuries severe enough to put Corbosiero in the intensive care unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Marston, who also faces kidnapping, assault and other charges in connection with the case, has a status conference scheduled for next week. Both Early and Marston have another pending case that allege they burglarized an occupied dwelling in August. They have pleaded not guilty.
