A big check for Ben's Buddies

Community Bank N.A. Springfield Branch Manager Ken Davis and Ben, with Ben’s mom Beth Adams, founder of Ben’s Buddies Social Group.

The Community Bank N.A. Springfield branch recently donated $250 to Ben’s Buddies Social Group as part of the bank’s Good Neighbor Day initiative. The funds will be used to support the group’s holiday meet-up.

For National Good Neighbor Day, Community Bank N.A. branches across New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts engaged in neighborly activities and donated to community causes. In total, the bank donated $55,250 to local nonprofits throughout its four-state footprint.

“We chose Ben’s Buddies Social Group for our Good Neighbor Day donation because the organization does so much to create social connections for all ages and abilities in our community,” Community Bank N.A. Springfield Branch Manager Ken Davis said. “They truly create unforgettable lifetime experiences for both the special needs individual and their families.”

Inspired by Ben, a young teen with autism, Ben’s Buddies Social Group was founded earlier this year and provides engaging activities, meet-ups and learning opportunities for individuals with special needs and their families. Each activity is planned so that each individual may engage in any way they can. The meet-ups also give parents, caregivers and siblings the opportunity to connect.
