Opinion: Cutting welfare to illegal aliens would pay for Trump’s wall
The US Census Bureau’s latest “survey of income and program participation” shows that 62 percent of illegal-immigrant-headed households are on the federal dole — more than double the rate for households headed by native-born Americans.

I find it very hard to believe that illegal aliens, who are subject to arrest and deportation, are telling the Federal Govt. that they are here illegally. Even more ridiculous is the claim that they are also telling the Govt. that they are illegally receiving benefits. This is just more far-right propeganda; the immigrants who are receiving benefits are LEGAL immigrants, who are LEGALLY receiving those benefits. Give it a rest, you're not getting anywhere with this.
ReplyDeleteI have meet Eastern European and Russian citizens in the NYC area using stolen identity to receive benefits. Was amazed at the network sophistication of trafficking in such IDs. Those I met had overstayed tourist and student visas for years. Not a stretch believe Latin american immigrants have access to the same, underground network. Living here in Vermont could not be more removed from that reality.
DeleteOK, but if the Federal Govt. can track them well enough to say 62% are illegally receiving benefits, then they should be able to find them and throw them out, or stop paying the benefits. I've done the research; the 62% receiving benefits are legal. There is no way of knowing how many illegal immigrants are fraudulently receiving benefits, if any. Just more propeganda to justify Trump's useless wall.
