Alumni parade lights up town

Springfield High School Alumni celebrated a fun-filled weekend. The festivities got underway Friday night with a banquet hosted by the Springfield Elks Club then continued all day Saturday with class breakfasts, a parade of floats and classic cars, the Alumni Association annual meeting, reunion picnics and parties.

Town pulls for hurt biker

Last week, Joshua Aiken was returning home on his motorcycle from Bike Week in Laconia, N.H.
Aiken, 27, of Springfield, crashed his bike in Meriden, N.H., and ever since the June 18 accident has been in critical condition with a severe head injury, according to Springfield Police Detective Jody Small.

Springfield honors retiring clerk

Milton Town Clerk John Cushing said an odd thing Tuesday night at the retirement dinner for Springfield's longtime Town Clerk Bonnie Reynolds.
"I wish I could have been one of her children," said Cushing, who didn't look anywhere young enough to be Reynolds' son.
