Quilters support Springfield Area Parent Child Center


This group of eight to 15 ladies meets twice a month for a day of social time, snacks, and sewing! To date, this group has donated over 200 blankets to the SAPCC Welcome Baby Bag program.

Springfield Rotary and Lions Battle the Town of Springfield in Softball on August 16th

The Annual Charity Softball game between the Rotary, the Lions, and Town employees will be on Thursday, August 16. The fun will begin with the National Anthem at 6:00pm, followed by PLAY BALL!

$3,000 a month, that ain't hay! (oh yes it is)

VINE Sanctuary in Springfield cares for over 600 rescued farm animals, spending at least $3K a month on hay. Today they are participating in the statewide Vermont Gives Day online fundraiser. Every dollar donated will buy 10 pounds of hay.

CMVA donates to Honor Flight New England


On Saturday, Aug. 26, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 26-3 held the “Put Some Pork on Your Fork,” dinner and fundraising event. On behalf of Honor Flight New England, Lt. Mark Fountain of the Springfield Police Department accepted their check for $8,000.

Hearts of Hope raises money for cancer patients

Hearts of Hope, a project of the volunteers at Springfield Hospital, raised $6,180 toward the purchase of items for the support and comfort of patients at Springfield Hospital’s Oncology Clinic. This total amount is the most ever raised in this decades-old holiday tradition.

On Wednesday, Nov. 30, a check for $500 was given to the Springfield Family Center for its holiday food baskets program. The funds came from the monthly free community lunch sponsored by the First Congregational Church UCC, Springfield, Vermont.

Country club donates money to fly veterans to nation's capital

To honor living veterans of World War II and other wars, Crown Point Country Club donated $1,000 on Tuesday, July 12 that was raised during an event to Honor Flight New England (HFNE), a nonprofit group that pays for veterans to visit Washington DC to see the memorials constructed to honor their service.

Rescue from Eden

On February 25th, more than 60 animals — mainly dogs — were rescued from a home in Eden, VT where they were living in appalling conditions. The Springfield Humane Society took in some of them.
