Windsor County Relay For Life Challenge Submitted by admin on Thu, 03/31/2016 - 2:21pm The Relay for Life team. Photo Provided SPRINGFIELD, Vt. - In every goal, there exists an inner challenge. The Event Leadership Team of the Windsor County Relay For Life wants you to realize that challenge and be part of the effort to excel beyond it. While the overall challenge of the Relay event is to raise funds to help victims of cancer, the immediate challenge is to foster the participation of more teams. Do you have what it takes to pull an all-nighter at Relay? Are you up to the challenge of raising funds for a common goal? It doesn’t take a giant corporation to form a team. If you and a few friends have been affected in some way by cancer, you have what it takes to be a team. Are you part of a group that meets on a regular basis? For a few months, turn those meetings into joining the fight against cancer. Do some brainstorming on how your connections can benefit those struggling with this devastating disease. Make your group a team! How about young adults who are part of a club or sports team? You work hard and train for athletic events and pour your heart and soul into those challenges. Why not make the Relay For Life event your point of focus for just the next three months? You won’t be sorry. The Windsor County Relay For Life will be held on Saturday, June 25, beginning at 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Riverside Middle School. Participating teams keep at least one member of their team walking the track at all times. Walking through the night signifies the darkness of diagnosis and the struggle of treatment. With the dawn of the next morning, there is an overwhelming feeling of exhilaration as Relay participants lean on each other during closing ceremonies and know that, yes, there is hope. There is an abundance of information on the web site, www.relayforlife.org. Please take a moment to check out this site and start the formation of your team today! Any of the members of the Event Leadership Team will be willing to help with questions. You may also contact Windsor County Relay For Life Community Manager, Casey McMorrow, at casey.mcmorrow@cancer.org. Completing this challenge will be one of the most satisfying experiences you will ever undertake. What do you say? Challenge accepted? - See more at: http://www.vermontjournal.com/content/windsor-county-relay-life-challenge#sthash.0hG8Ra3b.dpuf
