SPRINGFIELD, Vt. - It’s the first week of November, the students and staff challenged themselves to “give” to their Springfield Food Pantry. Union Street School collected a whopping 900 plus can & dry goods. 4th grader, Maggie said, “I was surprised to see how much kept being brought out to the stage. The boxes were overflowing with cans falling out”. Ms. McCutcheon’s third grade class had bragging rights for bringing in the most items as a class with a total of 149 goods. Para-Educator, Mrs. Graham donated 100 plus tooth brushes and floss. When Mr. Wiese from the food pantry arrived to fill the van, he said he was overwhelmed by the amount the students had donated, “I never thought it would be this much”. Teachers came together as we filled the food pantry van with boxes and bags of good will from our school to our community.
