Quilters support Springfield Area Parent Child Center

This group of eight to 15 ladies meets twice a month for a day of social time, snacks, and sewing! To date, this group has donated over 200 blankets to the SAPCC Welcome Baby Bag program.

Springfield Area Parent Child Center (SAPCC) serves families in southern Windsor and northern Windham counties with numerous programs and services. Welcome Baby Bags are just one of the wonderful programs offered by the parent child center. These bags are filled with useful materials for new parents, including a beautiful one-of-a-kind receiving blanket, often made by the Congregational Church Quilters of Springfield.

This group of eight to 15 ladies meets twice a month for a day of social time, snacks, and sewing! They take their mission seriously — Fellowship, Service, and Learning. To date, this group has donated over 200 blankets to the Welcome Baby Bag program, on top of the many other charitable efforts they contribute to. They also attend workshops as well as provide sewing lessons to anyone who’d like to learn the craft. Currently they are working on quilts for the free Church Bazaar & Quilt Show being held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Springfield Congo Church.

Call Bobby Randall at 802-885-4851 for more information about this active quilting group’s efforts. To request one of SAPCC’s Welcome Baby Bags, or find out more about this program please contact the program coordinator, Celeste Marquise at 802-886-5242 or email sapcc@vermontel.net.
