A free guide just released by the Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
SPRINGFIELD -- Do you or someone you know need help to remain living at home? Not sure where to turn to find help? You're not alone. Hiring a private caregiver can be a daunting task.
Now there is help in the form of a new publication authored by the Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging entitled "Employing a Caregiver in Your Home: Important Information You Should Know."
The eight-page guide is written in easy to understand language and explains how to find private caregivers, how to conduct background checks and outlines your responsibilities as an employer. The publication was produced with the assistance of Jay Abramson, a local attorney and elder law specialist.
The publication is available online at the website of the Area Agency on Aging for Northeastern Vermont at www.nevaaa.org or can be obtained by calling the Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont via the Senior HelpLine at 800-642-5119.
