This first Home Energy Expo to be held in Springfield featured seventeen exhibitors showing the latest in energy saving systems and ideas including solar heating, heat pumps, new energy-saving LED lights and more.
Participants included: CVPS, HB Plumbing and Heating, South Face, Net Zero Renewable Resources, VT Foam Insulation, Albee Home Energy Consulting, Sun Catcher, Preferred Building Systems, Philips Lightolier, Edgar May Recreation Center, Springfield Farmers Market, Vermont Energy Education Program, SEVCA, the Environmental Protection Agency, Connecticut River Transit, Green Island, and the Southern Windsor/Windham County Solid Waste District.

Home Energy Expo
The Southern Windsor County Regional Planning Commission in conjunction with the Energy Committees of Springfield, Windsor, West Windsor, and Weathersfield are hosting a Home Energy Expo: a free, energy-efficiency event for area families, home and farm owners, and businesses, to learn more about programs and products that will reduce consumption, decrease energy costs, and improve the community. The event will take place on Saturday, March 19, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the River Valley Technical Center in Springfield, Vermont.
The event will feature local experts and how-to workshops that include:
1. Energy-efficiency rebate and assistance programs and how they work for homeowners and businesses
2. Easy ways to tighten up your home, office, barn, or building
3. Making the right investments in lighting, heating, appliances, and building structures
4. Solar, wind, and other options to consider
The all-day expo will feature hands-on displays, products, and door prizes from local vendors, schools, and recycling programs.
