Home Energy Expo

This energy-saving display promoting recycling relied on Energy Expo attendees to generate the electricity to run it.  The event held Saturday was well attended.

This first Home Energy Expo to be held in Springfield featured seventeen exhibitors showing the latest in energy saving systems and ideas including solar heating, heat pumps, new energy-saving LED lights and more.

Participants included: CVPS, HB Plumbing and Heating, South Face, Net Zero Renewable Resources, VT Foam Insulation, Albee Home Energy Consulting, Sun Catcher, Preferred Building Systems, Philips Lightolier, Edgar May Recreation Center, Springfield Farmers Market, Vermont Energy Education Program, SEVCA, the Environmental Protection Agency, Connecticut River Transit, Green Island, and the Southern Windsor/Windham County Solid Waste District.

Photo shows Mary O'Brien of the Southern Windsor/Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District stressing the importance of recycling aluminum cans to a visitor from Massachusetts supplying the pedal power to light up the display.
