This is a five minute view of the moments surrounding the Signing over of the North School to the North School Preservation Society, nsps.awardspace.us, in Springfield Vermont shot edited by Edward Huse 2011 edhuse.com, set to a recording of live music, courtesy of archive.org, by Mozart, performed by the Lenox String Quartet.
For years the North School Preservation Society has worked to save the old grade school in North Springfield and the 5 acres of public recreation land associated with it from being sold off for private development. The efforts have finally come to fruition, and the big moment came this week on Tuesday when the Springfield School District transfered full legal ownership of the property to the North School Preservation Society, nsps.awardspace.us, at 10:00 a.m. in the law offices of Brady and Callahan,
56 Main Street, 3rd floor, Springfield, Vermont.
There was quite the festive atmosphere at this happy event, many flash bulbs were sacrificed, and a bottle of champagne was nearly popped! Here is the video, shot and edited by Edward Huse - http://youtu.be/CKtUpliMs5U
The event has opened a new phase for the North School Preservation Society, and they will need all the help they can get to spiff up the old school and grounds, interested parties are urged to visit the website, nsps.awardspace.us, or to write an email to Ed Fransen, ed44vt@gmail.com.
