Springfield Christmas Season Calendar

Santa made his first appearance of the year in Springfield on the night of December 2nd, kicking off the town's holiday season.

December 10 & 11, 2011: The Nutcracker will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Springfield High School Auditorium, and again at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for children. There is also a dress rehearsal Saturday at 9 a.m. that is open to the public.

December 11, 2011: The Association of Springfield Area Churches will be hosting Community Christmas Caroling to the senior living facilites from 1 pm to 4 pm. If you would like to join in the caroling please meet at the Community Christmas tree in downtown at 1 pm.

Mr. & Mrs. Claus Arrive In Springfield For The Holiday Season!

Santa did the honors of lighting up the Community Christmas Tree on Friday, December 2nd in Downtown Springfield. The Tree Lighting festivities began with Christmas caroling with the Springfield Community Band and the Community Players Dickens Carolers at 5:00 pm in Peoples United Bank parking lot. Santa & Mrs. Claus arrived at 5:30 pm to light the tree. After Santa lit the Christmas Tree and greeted fans, the evening continued at the Springfield Town Library with a special Open House reception for all with refreshments and music.
