Springfield 28, Burr and Burton 3
MANCHESTER — A quartet of Burr and Burton softball pitchers served up 22 bases on balls and Springfield took advantage, blowing the game open with 19 runs in the fourth inning to cruise to victory.
A tight 4-3 game was broken open when Bulldog pitchers could not find the strike zone and the Cosmos rallied for 19 runs in the fourth.
Heather Graham went the distance to earn the win. K.K. Haskell led the Cosmos with two hits, including a triple, Jill Rushton added a pair of hits and Megan Corcnesne added a triple for the Cosmos.
Caitlyn Arellano took the loss but added two hits to the BBA cause. Shelby Pistocco chipped in two hits for the 1-4 Bulldogs, who travel to Leland & Gray Tuesday.
