Vt inmate recovering after attack

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -
An inmate who was beaten and choked at the Springfield prison is out of the woods.
Police say on Monday, Dakota Gardner attacked Ryan John, 19.
John was treated in intensive care, but now has recovered. He should return to prison in the next several days.
Corrections officials say they noticed a window of Gardner's cell was papered over and when they went in, John was unconscious.
