SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -
A hit and run in Springfield this weekend injured two pedestrians.
That's according to one of the victims, Kevin Ticino of Bellows Falls. He says friends and family were walking to a prom on Circular Street in Springfield Saturday. Ticino says a black sedan backed up into one of the members in the group while they were in the crosswalk. Ticino says he then walked around to the front of the vehicle. The driver hit the gas and took off, sending him to the ground. Ticino declined medical attention on scene. He went to the hospital the next day. Doctors told him he fractured a bone in his lower back and injured his neck. He says he wants justice served.
"I don't think that is quite right that you hit two people and then speed off and nothing comes about it. You get told, well you got to wait and see what the state's attorney says," Ticino said.
According to Springfield Police Lieutenant Mark Fountain, officers responded immediately to the scene on Saturday and are continuing to investigate the incident.
