Polar Bear football opens 2012 campaign

Springfield High School's greatest football hero in recent memory, now on Maine's Bowdoin College Polar Bears team, will be back in action in Vermont this Saturday playing against the Middlebury College Panthers.

2011: Played in 5 games... 2nd on the team in rushing (110 yards)... Completed 37 passes for 378 yards and 2 touchdowns... 1st in pass completions in a single game with 19 vs. Williams (9/24/11)... 1st in yards passing in a single game with 247 vs. Williams (9/24/11)... recorded the longest completed pass (54 yards) vs. Williams (9/24/11)

2010: Played in all 8 games... 3rd on the team in rushing (102 yards)... threw for 607 yards... accounted for 709 yards on the season... scored 3 touchdowns... 30 punts for a total of 934 yards... 1 kickoff for a total of 43 yards... NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week (10/10/10)... also played basketball

Before Bowdoin: Graduated from Springfield (Vt.) High School and Kimball Union...at Springfield, named 2008-2009 Vermont Sportswriters and Sportscasters Male Athlete of the Year and captain of Springfield's undefeated football state championship team in 2008...Threw for 1900 yards and scored 44 touchdowns...Springfield High School's all time career touchdown leader with 82....also played basketball and baseball - graduated as Springfield High School basketball all time leading scorer with 1609 points...Quarterbacked Kimball Union Academy to a 8-1 record in 2009.

  1. It is great to see a kid from a small time program making it at the college level...I watched Grant his senior year in all sports and it was a true pleasure to watch a pure athlete and also a gentleman...

  3. URL stands for "Uniform Resource Locator". Doesn't mean someone in the business of finding the best deals on uniforms. A URL is any web page address such as http://springfieldvt.org/

    If you don't have your own website or personal profile online, you could just insert the web address of one of your favorite sites or simply leave that line blank.
