Terrick Craft denied pretrial release

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A reputed gang member who allegedly fired a hail of bullets at a man in the middle of a downtown Springfield intersection this summer will not be released before his upcoming trial on an attempted murder charge.
Judge Robert Gerety has issued a four-page written decision declining to let Terrick Craft, 28, return to his home in Springfield while his case is pending.
During a hearing last month in which Craft sought to reverse an earlier determination that he be held without bail on the attempted murder charge, his defense attorney suggested that Craft could stay inside his residence 24 hours a day with Craft’s wife and their children and that because of the curfew he would not be a danger to public safety.
In arguing against any pretrial release, Windsor County Deputy State’s Attorney David Cahill played a pair of jailhouse recordings of phone conversations in which a voice identified as Craft’s could be heard laughing with a friend and in a tone that was at once gleeful and menacing suggesting that things could “get ugly” at any moment and that “snitches” had “better hush like puppies.”
In formulating his written decision, Gerety said that while the seemingly incriminating tapes of the statements that were purportedly spoken by Craft on the tapes made by corrections officers at the Springfield jail might eventually be admissible at his trial on the shooting charges, they were not properly presented to him at the bail review hearing and so he did not consider them in the course of reaching his decision to deny Craft any immediate release.
Instead, Gerety wrote that he was not persuaded that Craft could be adequately supervised by his wife if he were at his residence, especially since she has a full-time job which would take her away from the home for long periods of time most weekdays.
Excellent news!

DeleteWhat's the stuff on his face??
ReplyDeleteA bad decision.
DeleteGood!
ReplyDeleteIf Craft were a white man he would never had been charged let alone being locked up without a reasonable bail.
ReplyDeleteYeah, right...because VT is so tough on diversity.
DeleteOh please! Enough with the racism bull!!!! Any IDIOT who did what he did is gonna get the same treatment!!!!
DeleteNo, I don't think the race card works in this situation -- after the phone calls from the prison. Sorry, but just doesn't play.
ReplyDeleteAmen! I'm so tire of hearing "it's only because he's black". A criminal is a criminal. Doesn't matter if he's black, white or green. We should all be grateful he didn't walk into a school with that gun.
DeletePoint is that you have the aggressor claiming he was shot at after he pounded the shooter's face in first. Some witness to base an attempted murder case on. No weapon found on alleged shooter or ever found, period. This case is a non-starter and the only reason the guy is in jail is that he is black and a gang member. This case is being promoted to show that the system is finally doing something about the drug sellers in town and it is going to fail if there is one black on the jury. In the mean time most of the white people involved in the murder of Vincent Tamburello are walking around free except for the token perp. It took Vincent Tamburello's parents a long time to get any prosecution done. It is all about the difference between being white or black in southern Vermont.
ReplyDeleteTell that to the white guy who shot the other white guy in the back in Chester....his name slips me
DeleteHis name did not slip by Vincent Tamburello's parents. It is Kyle Bolaski(white person) who the lead prosecutor(white person) tried to let off without a trial. This murder was committed with many others(white people) involved. Unfortunately they have not been brought to justice. Read about what his parents have to say about their struggle in seeking justice for the murder of their son, Vincent Tamburello.

Compare that with Craft's dilemma where he killed no one and was first attacked by the man that he later supposedly shot at.
This isn't justice. It is the deliberate lynching of a black man.
central vt.
DeleteYou do the crime, you do the time! Nothing to do with being black, white or whatever color you are. Of course I'm sure the "Crips" in prison and out would be interested to know he took their colors from a subject in town and had his son wearing them as a trophy. It would save the taxpayers a few dollars....
ReplyDeleteI don't really care what happened and am just relieved that he won't be peddling drugs to middle-schoolers this winter.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. No need for legal justice here. Maybe a lynching will be your next option?
DeleteLegal Justice here? Are you just mad you have to find a new supplier anon 8:21?
DeleteListen, I am not a judge nor jury and he will get his due process. I have watched this creep funnel kids in and out of his plastic porch for years and I am sick of the excuses of why "nothing can be done". The fact that he was even ON the streets to be (allegedly) involved in a shooting is proof-positive that he has been able to work the system of "legal justice" pretty well for a long time. He doesn't get to poison our town then cry when it catches up with him. I don't care if they get him on mail or tax fraud. I am simply relieved that there is one less deviant on Springfield's streets this winter.

DeleteI Incent I tell ya. I didnt do it. I never had a gun Cause I obey the law. thats why I waited more than 24 hours to talk to police after I was attacked. I dont know why mr. Brown wanted to hit me, Honestly I feel as though its because Im black and I dont work. I believe that is why everyone hates me.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is a drug dealer & needs to be in jail. Who cares what color he is, I don't. Bottom line you break the law be prepared to go to the slammer.
ReplyDeleteListen to yourselves. "This guy is a drug dealer & needs to be in jail. Who cares what color he is"... Funny but he is not being charged with drug dealing. He is being charged with attempted murder and the witness against him pounded his face in before a gun was fired. Seems like you are really confused or you just want to put this black man away and it doesn't matter at all what he did or did not do. You just want him locked up because he is black. Most people here declare they know he is a drug dealer as their excuse to lock him up and yet the police force is unwilling to charge him with this crime that you all know he is guilty of. Instead they are relying on the testimony of a gang member who attacked Craft viciously. What's next? Wearing white hoods and burning crosses like the town's residents did to the first black family to move into the Springfield area about forty years ago? Shame on you all. Trumped up charges against a black man when the local police are under pressure to finally do something about the criminal behavior that was being ignored is not the answer. When we were kids we were told that we could expect that type of justice in Alabama or Mississippi but not in Springfield, Vermont. How low has the town sunk?
DeleteIf that's what it's gonna take to get the scum out of this town and get it cleaned up, break out the linen.
DeleteWhy does it make us racist because we don't want this crap in our town. It is not our fault he is a black man. I don't want any white drug- dealing, gun-toting, non-working, baby-making, gang member freely roaming the streets either. My sheet doesn't care about color, just scumbags.
And he fits that description to a T.
The town has sunk pretty low, mostly thanks to drug dealers and the police who turned their heads until it became a PR problem. Terrick's comments demonstrate that he would not hesistate to use gun violence again against anyone who challenged him anywhere, anytime. His own words are why he is being held without bail, not anything posted on this blog.
ReplyDeleteoh come on ... That is REALLY Terrick commenting and THIS BLOG IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND DECISIONS ARE MADE HERE DAILY.
DeleteThis guy belongs in prison.! Listen to his statements recorded about what a big bad thug ghetto gangsta he is! The only one that is "hushin like a puppy" is him behind bars! YOUR A LAUGHING STOCK CRAFT.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the TAMBERELLO'S trying to ONCE AGAIN bring there story into the local news and cry "poor us" GO AWAY! TRUST ME WHEN I SAY MORE PEOPLE SUPPORT KYLE BOLASKI AND HIS INNOCENCE AND RELEASE THEN THAT WEBSITE THEY HAVE CREATED!
does the website tell about his rage issues? roid rage at its best.does it tell how he broke into some ones apartment before. he should have been in jail. rich parents though. if you never had interaction with vinny you dont know.
DeleteMurder is murder. You take someone's life, then pay the consequences. Bolaski made the choice to pull the trigger and kill Tamberello, after he was already injured. That's not saying Tamberello was a prince. I don't know either player, but people need to know they can't just go around playing vigilante. This is ridiculous. He took someone's life and that has to count for something.
DeleteThe tamberellos website is a CROCK OF CRAP! It would be one thing if it was ACTUALLY FACTUAL!! BUT IT ISN'T! They post outrageous LIES and ALTERED POLICE STATEMENTS to suit thier NEEDS! How do I know? because I took my own time to DOUBLE CK, which I highly reccomend others do, because then they will see that this family is CRAZY and LIARS. They took people's statements and changed them almost line for line! All you have to do is go to the court house and request copies of all to see what psycho snakes they are. The tamberellos dont want the public to know what a threat to the community there "VINNY" was! He was a TERRICK CRAFT! just read into all police reports and statements about CRAZY,PSYCHO,DRUG ADDICT VINNY. Just take a guess at how many different drugs were in this "VINNYS" TOX SCREENS!! and not one was prescribed! THE TAMBERELLO'S have not fooled many. When you do visit thier joke of a website and try to call them out for false statements they immediatly delete anything that exposes them for the crooks they are, then they start posting fake comments from people supporting thier bullshit. JUSTICE FOR KYLE
ReplyDeleteThat must justify the mob hunting Tambo down with multiple firearms, chasing him and shooting him more than once after he was already wounded when he was unarmed. Sounds like white justice to me. How come the others that helped perpetrate this murder are walking around free?
Deleteyou must have read that on their web site. i looked and was suprised at their claims. the way they described a spilting maul. "its just a little ax for splitting wood" "his girlfriend had the taser" "he just hit the truck cause he was mad" bad parenting my child is perfect and its some one elses fault. why was he even here? drug dealer?
Delete^ LIKE
DeleteTrash one locked up one dead , The town is better off.
ReplyDeleteAs a person who knows a girl that has personally had a run in with this punk, I know about his gun problem seeing as how he pointed one in her face after she beat him and his sister in a crazy fight on Union street about 5 years ago. The cops came to his house then too. Should have sent him back to New Jersey then. They don't tell you about him giving his wife's young children tattoos and the endless traffic going in and out of his house. He belongs locked away. Good job to Brownie for bust his jaw!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYa I know a guy who knows a guy who says..... What a crock of sheeet! If the guy is selling drugs charge him with selling drugs, instead a trumped up false charge that will end in the prosecutors and fools like you looking extremely stupid. Probably nothing unusual for you....
DeleteTerrick looks like he could use a hug! Group hug! C'mon...everyone!
DeleteMerry Christmas Terrick! Was Santa good to you?
ReplyDeletethere was no evidence that lead terrick craft to the shooting, his house was searched for guns and no guns were found. He ended up with a broken jaw from Nick Brown and why is Terrick Craft the only person being targeted here, what about Nick Brown. Nick should get charged as well, Nick is a drug dealer as well, so why don't the cops arrest him as well. The cops wouldn't even let Terrick Craft charge Nick Brown with assault. This whole case is based on racism, springfield does not like Terrick Craft, the cops in springfield are a bunch of racist cops that need to get a fucking life and let black people live there life without being hurassed.
