Springfield Community Chorus, under the direction of Ken Olsson, will begin spring rehearsals on Monday, January 7. New members welcome in all sections: bass, tenor, alto, and soprano.
Springfield (VT) Community Chorus is looking forward to our third season with Ken Olsson. He is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. He studied conducting, piano, and voice. Ken has extensive experience directing, accompanying, and performing in operas and musicals.
Springfield Community Chorus, under the direction of Ken Olsson, will begin spring rehearsals on Monday, January 7, 2013. Rehearsals are from 7 – 9 p.m., at the Springfield Unitarian-Universalist Church, 21 Fairground Rd. Springfield, Vermont. This church is the next building up the hill from Riverside Middle School. Rehearsals will continue each Monday night until our concerts, which will be on Saturday May 4, 2013, 7:00 PM at Ludlow Town Hall, and Sunday May 5, 2013, 3:PM, First Congregational Church, UCC, Springfield. We welcome new members in all sections: bass, tenor, alto, and soprano. We charge dues of $30 for the season. We welcome high school or college students, and full time students don’t have to pay dues. There are no auditions, but we expect our members to sing accurately. The ability to read music isn’t necessary, but it is very helpful
The Chorus will be preparing an exciting and inspirational spring concert. The Chorus will be presenting the beautiful and much loved Mozart’s “Requiem,” as well as some other choral works by Mozart. We hope you will write the dates of our concerts on your calendars now, (May 4, and May 5, 2013) and we hope that you will be able to join the Chorus to sing with us. Rehearsals are fun, invigorating, educational, and inspirational, and presenting a concert of beautiful music for area people is incredibly joyful and rewarding.
