Fifth graders help Family Center

More than 100 fifth gradera at Union Street School brought in canned goods for the Springfield Family Center, a haul of more than 300 food items.

  1. It's a fine thing they did, but it would be nicer to have a story acknowledging Union Street students for academic prowess rather than compliance with an esteem building exercise.

    Just one other question: Wonder how many of these students are on the "free lunch" program?
