The Raiders’ Kelsey Bullock and Amber Thomas defeated Abby Garrafa and Lexie Bellows, 6-1, 7-5, and Sarah Nadler and Megan Nadler defeated Pia Weismann and Bia Queiroz, 6-1 6-1 after the Cosmos won three singles, one by forfeit. In singles, Rutland’s Kaitlyn Hanley topped Erin Chlebak 6-2, 6-1, and Elizabeth Vitagliano beat Springfield’s Kylie Bellows 6-3, 3-6 (10-7) in a close match. The Cosmos surged in front as Kiana Nelson beat Melanie Hubbard in another nailbiter, 6-3, 4-6, 10-4, and Kendra Dana bested McKenna Phelps in yet another, 6-3, 4-6 (10-5). Springfield’s Lauren Werner then got a forfeit victory. Springfield has another good test on Wednesday when the Cosmos visit Woodstock.
