Published May 23, 2013 in the Rutland Herald Cosmos ‘Locke’ up Hartford TUESDAY SOFTBALL Springfield 10, Hartford 2 SPRINGFIELD — Sara Locke gave up a triple and two walks in the first inning and the was superb the rest of the way as Sprinfield beat Hartford under the lights of Bill Robinson Field to get to 6-6. “She settled down after the first inning and pitched a great game,” Springfield coach Andy Bladyka said. Locke gave up just one hit after the first. She struck out eight and walked three. The game was tied 2-2 going into the fourth and that’s when the Cosmos broke it open with four runs. KK Haskell ignited the rally by leading off the frame with a double and Jade Twombly then delivered a base hit with the bases loaded. Chelsea McAllister had two hits for the Cosmos. Jenna Yee took the loss.
