Miss Shelby Reardon Reigns over the 57th Apple Blossom Cotillion Submitted by VT Journal on Tue, 05/07/2013 - 1:22pm By DONNA ALLEN The Shopper SPRINGFIELD, VT – Last Saturday evening Miss Shelby Reardon was chosen the 2013 57th Apple Blossom Cotillion Queen. Escorted by Archie Farmer III, Reardon impressed the judges with her poise and appearance, her personality and her interview. The court consisted of Miss Merranda Lenahan escorted by Zack Cooper, Miss Angelina Mei escorted by Jacob Therrien, Miss Courtney Page escorted by Michael Muther, and Miss Jillian Rushton escorted by Jordan Crowley. The ‘Cotillion Gone Country’ evening started with Master of Ceremonies Larry Kraft thanking all and giving the background of the Cotillion. Then the program began; all the participants danced and sang The Devil went down to Georgia. Then the Future Cotillionaires showed themselves with I want to BeeBop You Baby. Both groups were stunning. Next the contestants and their escorts were introduced and each gave a lovely curtsey and bow. The contestants performed to Girls Night Out and Crazy while the escorts gave a brilliant rendition of She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy and Thank God I’m A Country Boy. And back together they sang You Belong to Me. Paul Stagner provided musical accompaniment while Kraft introduced the contestants and their escorts: Miranda Fogg & Cody Stevens, Alyssa Cooper & Mason Rabtoy, Courtney Page & Michael Muther, Amelia Thomas & Timothy Hildreth, Rachel Ells & Christopher Whaley, Kiana Blair & Chase Baldwin, Taylor Knoras & Brighton Fontaine, Merranda Lenahan & Zack Cooper, Shelby Reardon & Archie Farmer III, Jillian Rushton & Jordan Crowley, Jennifer Stein & Lawrence Bolduc, Brianna Condon & Brandon Roldan, Laura Vogell & Dean Bactad, Abigail Cox & Cody Vandenburgh, Abigail Cox & Cody Vandenburgh and Angelina Mei & Jacob Therrien. All were graceful and lovely. The Judges then left to deliberate and finalize a difficult choice. All of the contestants looked exquisite and performed well. The only part of the performance the audience did not see was the interviews. While the judges were deliberating the performers performed to That Don’t Impress Me Much/ I Want to Talk About Me, HoeDown ThrowDown, and Achy Breaky Heart. What fun! More of the personalities came shining through as boys held hands and gave cheek kisses to each other. Sassy personalities were bouncing around. Then it was time for the results. The Judges were introduced: Mike and Paula Lannon, Rutland; Sue Lackey and Barb Demic, Miss Vermont organization; Stacie Regan Gay, past Apple Blossom queen and Cindy Putorti, Catskill NY, high school production director. Introductions of past Apple Blossom queens, the 2012 queen and court and then… Cheers rang out from the crowd as the contestant chosen Mr. Congeniality was announced: Michael Muther and even more cheers for Miss Congeniality: Taylor Knoras. The Court and Queen were revealed and another Apple Blossom Cotillion floated into the night.
