Benefit golf tournament for SHS grads

The Springfield High School Alumni Association will host its 10th annual golf tournament at 1 p.m. Friday and participants will have a chance to win $10,000.

Tournament Chairman Bill Flore says the event which is being held at the Crown Point Country Club in Springfield is a fundraiser for scholarships that are awarded to SHS graduates. The event kicks off SHS Alumni Weekend and features a parade and class reunions Saturday.

The event includes lunch and barbecue appetizers and a chance to win $10,000 with a hole-in-one on the 18th hole. Applications are available at www.shsalumni.com.

    18 businesses donated money to support this and they cant mention them in them here? Wow....and people wonder why businesses dont want to donate anymore. I myself used to donate every year and stopped for this reason....want want want with no appreciation.
